Danbury to get $12M boost in state aid that lawmakers, mayor 'hope' helps prevent teacher layoffs

DANBURY — On the eve of the City Council’s scheduled vote to approve Mayor Roberto Alves’ $311.65 million 2024-25 city spending proposal, local legislators and Alves’ administration announced that Danbury is expecting a $12 million boost in state aid for the upcoming fiscal year.
